Answering to the past: part 2

"Why are you asking me this, Guy?" I saw that he was troubled "Because... " he hesitated, "I love you." I took a few steps away, I was shocked and didn't know what to say… "I have for a long time…" Guy continued, "I am sorry I shouldn't have said." I stood facing him tears trickled down my cheek, "I don't know what love is….." I said softly with shame…. "Maggie?" He said with a look of puzzle… "I lived in isolation, doing what I was told… I felt something with Charles but then after time I felt cold… When I opened to him. It was as if I was standing in front of a refrigerator. I went to bed and would wake cold and find him not there but in his office with some cognac. I needed him and he left. He left me to face... to die.. With Charles and I the feelings were short burst and …." I sighed I wasn't explaining this at all well, "What I feel with you is different. I don't feel cold, I think about you from the minute I wake to the minute I go to bed… Being with you has made me realize that what Charles and I had was somehow empty, that in my life there was this hole and I didn't know this hole was there not even when I was with Charles but now with you I know it because you fill that hole…. I am so….. confused…" I let the tears fall and Guy walked over and wiped them with his hand and cradled my face. Then he kissed me…. At the hotel we came together in a way we hadn't before. Perhaps before it was all lust but not now, not this time… I could feel his heart beat, hear it matching our rhythm… Guy kept cradling my face, making sure his eyes and mine were locked. Every time the moment beckoned me to close them he would whisper, "no don't let me see into your eyes…" I too wanted to see his eyes, see his feelings that were unmasked, opened and unfleeting. He even let me touch his chest and open his heart. This created a rush in our moment like I had not felt…. After an incredible night I laid with Guy watching him sleep… A pins and needles like feeling rushed over my body. It wasn't a numbness but a feeling of pleasure, I had not felt before. I kissed gently the muscles of his back and watched him shiver and mumble in his sleep, "Maggie." I giggled… and I whispered, "I love you". I rose and watched the dawn… After breakfast we proceeded to New York…. Guy and I went directly to the Temple… I found the Cardinal with other Cardinals. Cardinal Hermann looked at me and then at Guy… Cardinal Hermann spoke with much disapproval, "Magdalena, we were worried. Where have you been?" "I know!" I stated bitterly The old Cardinal signaled for Temple security to remove Guy and I tossed a dagger at security, "He stays." Cardinal Herman's face drew up in anger, "Magdalena, this Henchman has no place here. He hasn't been summoned and this is a matter of the Church." Guy remained silent as I had asked of him though I swear I felt if he was biting through his tongue. I yelled again but louder my voice echoing in the Temple halls, "I KNOW!" Th old Catholic shook his head, "What are you going on about!" "Kyle Hawks? Ring any bell? My mother, my father and my unborn brother,,,,, MURDERED!" I opened the chest and began to change as Henchman smiled, "So are we a rebel now?" "Funny I thought you were always a rebel? " I walked to him, "I just think you mistook being a rebel as being a villain. Guy raised his hand and gave me that let's not go there look… I sighed, "Vampi, SHI and other are considered Heroes and also rebels. They work for no one only for doing the right thing and for good.
