Answering to the past: part 11: finding Guy

I continue to try to remember things… Nothing will come to me… The old woman named Betty called this Professor X, but we have discovered the phones are down and there are rumors to be fighting in the area. So instead she and I have been searching for Guy. I wish I knew who he was. Right now he is a man in my dreams. When I sleep I can see him but as soon as I open my eyes his face vanishes from my memory. All I have is feelings. The feeling he needs me and the feeling that he is important. I see a scar. It is unique this scar… I awake calling his names but that is it... A Name, a scar and feelings.... With only the name Guy, it wasn't going to be easy to find him… Letting our fingers do the walking through a phone book we called everyone with the name Guy. On the last name… I crossed my fingers, "Hello, Guy….." "Speaking…" His southern accent wasn't familiar at all… "We are calling about a friend of yours… One that has been missing. Do you have a scar?" He didn't seem to recognize my voice… "Lady I don't know what you're talking about, now if you will excuse me I have to get ready for my show." He snapped… I hung the phone up and threw it across the room… "Don't worry, Magdalena. Perhaps your Guy's phone is unlisted or he doesn’t live in New York. We will find him… " She was kind and endearing… I picked up the newspaper.. the headlines read, "Teen arrested for defacing the Lincoln memorial." I tossed it a side and was sitting thinking… "I will make dinner, how about something Italian." Betty asked politely… I shrugged and she walked over and picked up the newspaper… From the corner I saw Abra… I snatched the newspaper… " The memorial was erected in honor of Abraham Lincoln…. " I threw it down , "no that isn't right…" "What is it…. " Betty inquired… "For a moment.... The name was familiar but it isn't right…" I sighed…"I am going to rest." "You have been sleeping a lot." Betty patted my back Looking at her I sighed, "It is the only way I can be with him at the moment." As I slept Betty left. She was still gone when I woke… I waited for her, "Where were you?" She jumped and stated in a startled voice, "Oh my…… I … I … No where…" "I am asking you again! Where were you!" I asked firmly… "No where just looking around, you know window shopping." She was lying and it was clearly obvious…. [Meanwhile …. Henchman's phone rings…. As he looks he sees it is from the Local Union's office… "Yeah, what is it?" He answers…. "Hi, this is Ned, there was an old lady here, I think she was looking for you. She came in all nervous. Had a small piggy bank, wanted to pay us to find someone. It looks like it was the broad's social security. She said she wasn't sure about the name… The old hen said Abraham Guy, or something to that affect. She knows the person she is looking for is named Guy but not if it is the first middle or last name and that he may have a name like Abraham. Guy, she talked about the scar. The broad wouldn't leave a name, address or a number. Seemed a bit spooked any way she said that she would come by tomorrow to see if we had any information. Thought you should know." The man on the other line stated "Yeah thanks, I will be there tomorrow. " The next day Guy Abrams enters the Union and meets with Ned, ignoring the dark shadow sitting with the other henchmen…. "Ned, I am going to stand over in the corner, when the old lady comes in signal me but tell her you have nothing to come back later." Guy smiles "Sure thing." Ned nods….. Henchman stands in a dark corner and waits….Taking in the scenery of the room.. He notices the Henchmen and one in particular. A dark figure with his lady friends… The Dark figure nods at the Henchman and Guy nods back in respect for his fellow henchman... One of the female companions walks over with a drink… "Hi, I am Tala, thought you might want a beer." She wraps an arm around henchman and presses her body close. "Won't your boyfriend get jealous?" Guy asks "Jericho? He is my partner not my boyfriend, besides who do you think sent me and the beer over." Tala teases… Guy pulls away, "Thanks but I am …. Not available." "Girlfriend?" the woman purrs "Yeah." Guy nods as he takes a swallow of the beer "So what is her name?" The Girl continues to flirt… "Amber." Guy responds… "Amber what?" Tala presses her body close and whispers Guy pulls away, "Sorry, but Amber is special and you couldn't compare to the Magdalena." "The Magdalena? I heard she was dead…" The woman took Guy's hand and placed it between her cleavage. "Do us both a favor and go back to …uh.. Jericho." Guy stated pulling away from the girl…] It was early, I heard Betty, she was already up and getting dressed. She looked in at me. I laid still and pretended to be a sleep. When she slipped out I followed… She went to this building and I waited outside… Hmmm Local Union….. She entered I could see a man nod but not at who, then I saw her talk to him… Soon she left again… Why was she here… When she left she turned into a dark alley… I climbed the building… I would crossover the roof tops and come down in front of her… I would find out what Betty was doing…. [As Betty leaves from talking with Ned she turns down a dark alley… She stops to pet a poor hungry cat. Reaching in her purse she pulls out a sandwich and feeds the cat… Guy, a well-trained henchman observes from the door. As Betty continues to stroll down the street, he follows…. His cell vibrates he ducks in a shadow and answers it with a whisper, "Yeah, Ned." "You left before I could tell you. The person who got paid on your girl friend's hit, was a freelancer named Jericho." Ned states and Guy straightens up… "Damn how could I be so sloppy." Guy states looking around as he sees from a dark shadow a figure and realizes he is being followed. The figure deliberately walks out for Guy to see him... Guy then hears in a low mutter a voice, a familiar voice… "Amber?" he thinks as he watches the dark figure, whom didn't seem to hear the voice. Guy fights the desire to look at Amber and moves to walk away. he bumps a can and looks a way for a second, a second to much as the hunting henchman has disappeared once again.] "Betty…. " I jumped down and faced her… "Magdalena, you shouldn't be here." Betty stuttered "Why are you here? Have you betrayed me?" I asked…. Just as the words left my mouth I heard a noised… I looked and saw…. That face….. I knew that face… it was him from my dream… I smiled and walked toward him… He shook his head at me and then looked toward a dark rooftop…. Then turned away as if he didn't know me and began to walk in the opposite direction… "GUY!" I yelled … He turned a look of fear in his face as I saw the red glowing eyes look down at me… "Amber, get down!" he yelled as he dove for me… The dark shadow jumped down firing guns and a frail body ran past me… Guy landed on my body using his as a shield as he summoned a dark beast… the cold dark silent night was shattered by a shriek of pain… "Betty?" I pushed Guy to the side and rose… He stood grabbing me in a very protective manner… His dark beast hovered, the shadow of Jericho was gone and Betty was on the ground …. She had ran past me and put herself in front of the gunman's bullets preventing them from hitting Guy or me… I ran to her as Guy scouted around with his dark beast…. "I am sorry Magdalena, this was a bad idea…" She cried as blood soaked the ground…" I am sorry Magdalena. Do not be angry. I wasn't meaning to be bad by asking the Local Union for help. You were sad, I was just hoping they could find him. I should of known better, I am sorry…" Guy walked to me and checked me stating, "Jericho is gone for now." "Betty, No I am sorry. You were trying to help me….. and you did…. Thank you." Betty looked at him, "Is this him? I smiled at him then down at her, "Yes it is. I am starting to remember." She smiled, "He is handsome, please take care of her." Betty then died… I began to weep and Guy lifted me up, "Amber we have to go. It is too dangerous here." Guy took me to his home…. Some of my memories are still foggy and some still elude me, but slowly they are returning… I need to find this nun who knows of my brother, but Guy feels I shouldn't go in my condition… He has suggested we attend this party… "Guy, I am still not clear, who killed Greene?" He wouldn't answer me, "Guy? Alright what about this Jericho. You said he got paid for killing me. So with the Cardinal dead, there is no price on my head anymore. Why is he still after me?" "Henchman code… He got paid for a job.. The job isn't technically done until you are dead. His rep is on the line. " I shook my head….. He went to get some take out and when he got home, we had dessert...
